Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Telecommunications Systems Specialist to join our team at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Health in Lebanon, NH.

About the Role:

This position will be responsible for providing timely and courteous telecommunications services to internal and external customers, as well as DH team members and peers. The successful candidate will work with internal and external customers to provide information, create tickets, escalate tickets, restore service, and provide specific services.

The role will also involve managing pagers and triaging paging system issues, performing basic voicemail configurations, assisting staff with voicemail issues and training, and providing effective remote support to any location throughout the DH enterprise as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide timely and courteous telecommunications services to all internal and external customers, as well as DH team members and peers.
  • Assist with basic tasks related to configuration, testing, and maintenance of telephone systems and endpoint devices for DH-Health (physical and softphones).
  • Perform basic voicemail configurations and assist staff with voicemail issues and training.
  • Provide effective remote support to any location throughout the DH enterprise as needed.
  • Communicate routine and complex system information effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Help maintain end-user support guides.
  • Assist with generating meaningful telephone system data reports used to determine the cause of any issues and develop solutions going forward.
  • Assist with operational databases to provide reporting, maintenance, and inventories for telephone systems. Ensure continuous operation of paging systems by monitoring paging reports. Troubleshoot pager issues, reassign pagers, and maintain spare pagers.
  • Become proficient with IT service management software and maintain current with functionality. Order and repair badge inventory.
  • Maintain a master list of employees with assigned pager numbers and keep it current and archive/delete those that have left. Collect and/or reassign pagers when employees leave and/or transfer to a new role/floor.
  • Order and repair pager inventory with vendors.
  • Maintain and develop telecommunications databases. Run reports, read reports, and share data with key stakeholders.
  • Participate in the planning, design, revision, and implementation of services concerning facility infrastructure, and other assigned departmental projects.
  • Update blueprints and wiring diagrams to document adds, changes, and moves to cable plant.
  • SUCCESSFULLY utilize the ACD (Automatic Call Distributor) system within department guidelines.
  • Provide technical analysis and project coordination for all regional communications or voice/data services requiring interaction with project sponsored by facilities, engineering, or clinical departments.
  • Ensure proper functioning and responsiveness to systems. Identify the source of user problems for telecommunications equipment and facilitate repair, either directly or through appropriate vendor. Manage installation and testing.
  • Provide technical analysis, project coordination, development, and implementation for departmental and institutional telecommunications cabling standards.
  • Responsible for Telecomm invoices, sharing with responsible parties for payment.
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned.

Requirements:

  • High school graduate.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Strong customer service skills required.
  • Ability to work in a high-paced environment.
  • Ability to pass a typing test at a minimum of 45 WPM.
  • CompTIA, HDI, and/or Windows Microsoft a plus.
  • Previous blueprint and system documentation experience desired.

Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 per year.
