Join our team to support the oversight and management of the U.S. Government's Terrorist Watchlist, also referred to as the Terrorist Screening Database (TSDB), along with other national security watchlists. This role is part of a collaborative, multi-agency organization administered by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and involves partnerships with various federal entities including the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), the Department of State (DOS), and the Department of Justice (DOJ).

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Nominations and Data Integrity Unit (NDIU) by providing expertise on all aspects of terrorist watchlisting nominations, focusing on the review and approval process, including quality assurance (QA) and data integrity measures for electronic systems.
  • Conduct thorough searches across multiple database systems to gather relevant data on specific subjects and collaborate effectively with diverse partners to achieve mission objectives.
  • Interpret guidance and policy documents with precision, even in challenging situations, while mentoring and training junior personnel to ensure consistent quality across the team.
  • Serve as a leader in the nominations review and approval process, overseeing QA and data integrity measures, while managing personnel schedules and reviewing the work of fellow analysts.
  • Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, to provide strategic advice to executive management on sensitive issues, including preparing comprehensive reports, briefings, and visual data presentations.
  • Plan and direct team efforts, negotiating with management to implement recommendations that may require significant resource allocation and procedural changes.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the organizational structure, missions, and functions of the TSC to assess the implications of study findings and recommendations.
  • Gain knowledge of program goals, key events, and evaluation methods to measure program success.
  • Understand relationships with other programs and administrative functions within the TSC and partner agencies.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Essential:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 2-4 years of relevant experience demonstrating:


o Advanced knowledge and expertise in applying qualitative and quantitative methods for assessing and enhancing program effectiveness and complex management processes.

o In-depth understanding of research theories, principles, practices, and analysis methodologies.


o Comprehensive knowledge of administrative laws, executive orders, directives, policies, regulations, and precedents related to TSC program administration.


  • Extensive background in one or more of the following areas: watchlisting, identity analysis, intelligence, law enforcement, U.S. military, or national security (including counterterrorism, counterintelligence, transnational organized crime, and weapons of mass destruction).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
