As an Adjunct Faculty member at the University of Southern Mississippi, you will play a vital role in facilitating students' achievement of course objectives and preparing them to build knowledge and master skill sets to move forward through the program.
Primary Responsibilities- Teaching and Instruction: Adhere to the class schedules as posted and communicate course requirements to students.
- Student Support: Be available to students during a required number of office hours and be responsive to students through Canvas.
- Collaboration and Planning: Collaborate with other School of Marketing Faculty, as well as the Director, to plan, implement, and evaluate each course offering taught to maintain quality and effectiveness.
- Professional Development: Follow the policies and procedures of the School of Marketing, the College of Business and Economic Development, and the University of Southern Mississippi.
- Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned.
- A terminal degree in the discipline in which you will be teaching.
- A master's degree (or equivalent) with at least 18 hours of graduate classes in the discipline in which you will be teaching.
- A master's degree (or equivalent) in a related field and substantial professional experience in the area in which you will be teaching.
- Candidates must have earned 18 graduate hours or have significant and documented work experience in the teaching field.
- The ability to deliver accurate, concise, and quality communication (verbal and written) in a timely manner.
- The ability to work collaboratively with other faculty in the unit.
- The ability to navigate and use learning management systems for teaching, such as Canvas, as well as other technological communications (Microsoft Office Suite).
- Proficiency in teaching strategies and techniques for diverse student populations.
- Documented success in teaching at the University level.
- Experience teaching online and using Canvas.
- Quality matters certification.
