Job Summary

As an Engineering Intern at NORDAM, you will apply your knowledge of basic engineering principles to assist in the design, development, and testing of aircraft and related component systems. This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic and innovative environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine developmental assignments and apply standard solutions to problems or work situations of a routine or repetitive nature.
  • Assist in the design and development of commercial, military, executive, general aviation, or special-purpose aircraft and/or related hardware or systems.
  • Assist in the test model, prototype, subassembly, or production vehicles to study and evaluate operational characteristics and effects of stress imposed during actual or simulated flight conditions.
  • Assist in the design and development of structural components such as wings, fuselage, rib assemblies, landing gear, or operational control systems.
  • Assist in the design and development of analytical programs concerned with ground or flight testing, or development of acoustic, thermodynamic, or propulsion systems.
Requirements
  • Currently enrolled in an engineering school at an accredited college or university in a mechanical, aeronautical, electrical, or other applicable engineering discipline.
  • No experience is required for the position, as it is established to gain engineering experience over the summer break.
  • Demonstrate competency in applying the following in performing normal job duties:
    • Communicate effectively in both written and verbal form using electronic media, telephone, and direct contact with internal and external personnel.
    • Operate standard office equipment and demonstrate competency in the use of standard software applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
    • Complete the Safety training specific to the area and/or equipment used.
    • Complete the required NORDAM University training for all stakeholders.
    • Comply with The NORDAM Group Leadership competencies for stakeholders.
    • Ability and willingness to assist and transfer technical knowledge to less experienced stakeholders.
Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the stakeholder is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
