Automotive Finisher

Job Summary:

As an Automotive Finisher at Wallenius Wilhelmsen, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality finish on vehicles. This includes visual inspection, completion of internal and customer forms, maintaining a clean work area, and accurate reporting of quality issues. You will also be responsible for inspecting vehicle exteriors, polishing with rotary and DARO polishers, and repairing heavy scratches using compound. Additionally, you will wipe down, clean, and polish entire cars, provide feedback and continuous improvement ideas, and perform other assignments as directed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Visual inspection of vehicles for any damage
• Completion of required internal and customer forms
• Maintains a clean and organized work area
• Ensure accurate and timely reporting of all quality issues to management
• Inspect Vehicle Exterior and completely polish with Rotary and DARO polishers. Remove all marring/ holograms from the paint. Repair of heavy scratches using compound
• Wipe Down/ Clean/ Polish entire car
• Provide feedback and Continuous Improvement Ideas to management as needed
• Perform other assignments as directed

Requirements:

• Complete understanding of, or ability to quickly learn paint finish and detailing processes
• Must be capable of carrying out specific work procedures and directions
• Ability to multi-task, work in a fast-paced and very demanding environment
• Ability to read/ write and comprehend verbal/ written instructions in English
• Ability to work unsupervised and be accountable for assigned tasks
• Must be able to lift, carry and hold items up to 50lbs
• Ability to bend, stoop, stand and walk for extended periods of time
• Able to work in all weather conditions
• Have a valid driver's license and ability to drive both manual and automatic transmissions
• Good communication skills, able to work well with others and keep good relationships with others
