Job Overview

We invite applications from qualified candidates for the position of Crisis Support Specialist at Red Rock Behavioral Health Services. This role offers an exciting opportunity to support staff in the Crisis Unit and contribute to the well-being of individuals with mental health challenges.

Estimated Salary: $45,000 - $55,000 per annum, depending on location and experience.

Key Job Duties:

  1. Support nurses with group activities, such as set-up and clean-up, ensuring a safe and supportive environment.
  2. Engage with consumers, listening and responding effectively to their needs, and reporting observations to nurses for progress notes.
  3. Maintain contact with consumers to coordinate activities on the unit, promoting a sense of community and connection.
  4. Participate in recreational activities while prioritizing the safety of staff and high-risk consumer populations.
  5. Exercise awareness in high-risk environments, following established procedures and maintaining close contact with consumers when necessary.
  6. Collaborate with team members to ensure the safety of consumers during verbal and physical interventions.
  7. Support basic cooking and cleaning efforts for program needs, if applicable.
  8. Monitor supplies and coordinate or make purchases to ensure necessary items are available.
  9. Participate in ongoing in-service education as required.
  10. Attend staff meetings, workshops, and seminars as needed.
  11. Adapt to changing demands by executing a wide variety of tasks and shifting focus quickly.
  12. Contribute to the facilitation of Care Plans for consumers.
