The Ultrasound Imaging Specialist is expected to exhibit the expertise and skills necessary to deliver care that is appropriate for the age of the patients served in their designated unit.

The candidate must possess a solid understanding of the principles of growth and development across the lifespan and have the capability to evaluate data that reflects the patient's condition, interpreting the necessary information to identify each patient's requirements and deliver care in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
The Ultrasound Imaging Specialist must conduct sonographic examinations of all body parts for diagnostic evaluation. They must apply professional judgment in performing procedures while adhering to radiation safety principles.
Responsibilities include performing diagnostic medical sonography within the department and other designated areas, maintaining patient records, overseeing departmental quality assurance initiatives, and pursuing ongoing education.
They will also be responsible for transferring patients to and from imaging, assuming departmental responsibilities in the absence of a supervisor, rotating shifts as necessary, and completing ancillary tasks as directed by the supervisor.
Additionally, they must maintain personal and departmental hygiene, demonstrate resilience in stressful situations, and be open to learning additional imaging modalities as required.
Capability to perform duties in two ultrasound fields (General and Vascular, or Cardiac) is essential.

ULTRASOUND DUTIES
Conduct all requested examinations for diagnostic interpretation by a radiologist.
Continuously seek to enhance educational qualifications with RDMS certification (Abd, OB/GYN, RVT, RDCS).
Engage in continuing education to meet radiology and/or RDMS standards.
Responsible for the care of transducers and maintaining a tidy work environment.
Manage the paperwork associated with procedures and assist with ultrasound invasive procedures.
Participate in the development of policies and procedures in this area and consult with referring physicians.
Ensure proper care of equipment and actively contribute to accreditation efforts.
Stay informed and educated in this evolving field.

SECONDARY DUTIES
Attend departmental and organizational meetings, training sessions, and emergency drills.
Education, Certifications, and Licenses Required:
Current ARDMS certification in one category
Experience Required:
Ability to perform all diagnostic examinations related to the assigned modality.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Tech I - ARDMS certification in one modality (ABD, OB/GYN, RVT, RDCS)
Tech II - ARDMS certified in two modalities/ARDMS categories (ABD, OB/GYN, RVT, RDCS)
Tech III - ARDMS certification in three modalities (ABD, OB/GYN, RVT, RDCS)
Tech IV - ARDMS certification in all categories (ABD, OB/GYN, RVT, RDCS)

Travel Requirements:
Travel may be necessary to provide services at various HexaQuEST Health locations.
