As a Pharmacy Technician at Sheridan Memorial Hospital, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient dispensing of medications and pharmaceutical supplies. This is a dynamic and challenging position that requires strong organizational and communication skills, as well as a commitment to delivering exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Compound and dispense medications and pharmaceutical supplies upon receiving prescriptions from physicians or other qualified prescribers
- Perform various technical duties of the pharmacy, including typing labels, maintaining inventory control, and organizing outdated or overstocked medications
- Review and maintain accurate records associated with prepackaging, stock levels, and ordering information
- Aseptically admix parenteral products, such as large volume parenterals, IV piggybacks, and total parenteral nutrition bags
- Operate automated dispensing units, troubleshoot error messages, and select correct medications from storage areas
- Work under the supervision of the Pharmacy Manager and contribute to a positive pharmacy team spirit
- Certified Pharmacy Technician with Wyoming State Board of Pharmacy, or Tech-in-training License
- High School Diploma or GED, required
- Completion of Aseptic Technique, Hazardous Medication, and Chemotherapy (if applicable) Annual Competencies
- Maintain 15 hours of continuing education annually
This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with possible exposure to blood and body fluids, infectious disease, and hazardous waste. The successful candidate will be required to wear Personal Protective Equipment and adhere to established safety protocols.
