Fastenal is seeking a highly skilled Indirect Tax Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our tax compliance function, you will be responsible for assisting with the daily operations of sales and use tax, personal property tax, and business license processing.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate and prepare filing of returns for domestic operations
- Gather, organize, and analyze documents and data related to external audits of sales and use tax
- Assist Fastenal branches, customers, and others with correct sales and use tax exemption requirements and other tax questions
- Review financial and operational data
- Work to identify and implement procedural improvements to enhance efficiency
- Complete special projects and other administrative tasks as required
- Possess or be working towards a Business/Accounting related degree or have administrative work experience
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite
- Demonstrate strong organization, planning, and prioritizing abilities
- Exhibit strong problem-solving, deductive reasoning, and decision-making skills
