KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Engage in initiatives primarily for governmental entities, including but not limited to the Department of Defense and the Environmental Protection Agency.
  • Participate in site assessments and remediation efforts for locations governed by federal regulations, addressing both hazardous waste and munitions.
  • Oversee the operation and maintenance (O&M) as well as long-term monitoring (LTM) of remediation systems.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A bachelor's or master's degree in a relevant scientific field, such as:
  • Geosciences (including geology, geochemistry, hydrogeology, and geotechnical engineering)
  • Between 3 to 7 years of relevant experience in environmental consultancy, remediation, or a similar sector.
  • Relevant experience may include:
  • Field sampling of environmental media including groundwater, soil, sediment, and air.
  • Implementation and management of remediation systems (e.g., pump and treat systems, leachate management, landfill flares, in-situ remediation).
  • Familiarity with mechanical systems and their operation.
  • Proficient report writing that adheres to regulatory standards.
  • Knowledge of federal and state regulatory frameworks.
  • Possession of key personal attributes:
  • Professional demeanor and positive attitude.
  • Collaborative team player.
  • Detail-oriented and organized.
  • Self-driven and efficient in task execution.
  • Proficient in computer applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat, and SharePoint.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Completion of 40-Hour OSHA HAZWOPER Training and 8-Hour Refresher training as necessary.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to pass a HAZWOPER medical examination and drug screening.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Background in operating remediation systems and conducting long-term monitoring.
  • Experience with asbestos inspections and related reporting.
  • In-depth understanding of federal and state regulations.
  • Knowledge of chemistry and Quality Assurance Project Plans (QAPPs) relevant to environmental sample analysis.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD or GIS software.
  • Professional registration or the capability to obtain such registration (e.g., PG, CHMM).
