Job Title: Quality Program Manager - Registered Nurse - Trauma/Burn Program

Mass General Brigham is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse to join our team as a Quality Program Manager for the Trauma and Burn Program. Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety in the Trauma and Burn Program.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to identify and address opportunities for improvement, and develop strategies to implement changes.
  • Lead the coordination and facilitation of performance improvement data collection, analysis, and trending, and develop analytic and measurement strategies to assess the impact of change on processes of care.
  • Develop and maintain working knowledge of national standards and guidelines related to trauma and burn care, and serve as a resource to the data coordinator team.
  • Prepare and present quality assurance and process improvement data to the Trauma Performance Improvement and Patient Safety Committee, and foster clinical inquiry through journal article reviews and presentations.
Education and Outreach Activities:
  • Collaborate with staff educators to develop and support clinical nursing practice and innovation in the care of trauma and burn patients.
  • Foster clinical practice development through observation, conceptualization, and analysis of complex clinical problems related to trauma and injury, and develop outputs such as evidence-based in-services, clinical practice guidelines, and trauma nursing grand rounds.
  • Assist Professional Development Managers and unit-based educators in the development of competency standards specific to the population, and promote education through lectures, in-services, abstracts, and presentations at local and national meetings.
Research Activities:
  • Foster research activities related to assuring optimal outcomes for the trauma/burn population as principal investigator or co-investigator, and develop study conceptualization, design, and implementation of related research activities carried out within the trauma/burn program and in collaboration with members of the multidisciplinary team.
  • Interpret clinical data in conjunction with co-investigators, statisticians, and other members of the research team as appropriate, and collaborate with the Nursing Director regarding clinical and administrative activities necessary to ensure successful verification by the American College of Surgeons for Level I Trauma and the American Burn Association.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) required; Master's degree in a healthcare-related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in emergency room and ICU nursing required.
  • Database management and analysis experience preferred.
  • Experience in healthcare and patient safety quality measurement, reporting, and improvement required.
  • Previous leadership or project management experience, including statistical concepts and applications preferred.
  • Experience working in a large and complex healthcare organization required.
