Quadrant is seeking a highly skilled Medical Biller - Account Receivable to join our team. As a key member of our revenue cycle team, you will be responsible for generating revenue by making payment arrangements, collecting accounts, and monitoring delinquent accounts.
Key Responsibilities:- Collect delinquent accounts by establishing payment arrangements with patients, monitoring payments, and following up with patients when payment lapses occur.
- Utilize collection agencies and small claims court to collect accounts by evaluating and selecting collection agencies, determining appropriateness of pursuing legal remedies, and testifying for the hospital in court cases.
- Maintain Medicare bad-debt cost report by tracking billings, monitoring collections, and compiling information.
- Initiate claims against estates by monitoring deaths and unpaid accounts, informing legal department to act on probate and estate issues, and following up with clerk of court.
- Secure outstanding balance payments for care of hospital employees by establishing payroll deductions and obtaining signatures for automatic transfers.
- Secure obstetrical payments by interviewing and obtaining information from pre-delivery patients, establishing payments due prior to delivery, and sending monthly statements.
- Maintain work operations by following policies and procedures, reporting compliance issues, and maintaining quality results by following standards.
- Protect office's value by keeping collection information confidential and update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
- Serve and protect the hospital community by adhering to professional standards, hospital policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements, and JCAHO standards.
- Enhance billing department and hospital reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
