**Job Responsibilities:**

* Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for patients with various medical conditions
* Conduct health teaching and counseling to promote patient education and empowerment
* Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans
* Execute delegated medical functions and refer patients for further evaluation or treatment as needed
* Document patient information and therapy plans according to hospital and regulatory guidelines

**Requirements:**

* Current license as a Registered Nurse in the state of practice required
* Previous experience as a Registered Nurse preferred
* Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
* Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)/Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)/Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification as appropriate for unit or service

**Job Description Format:**

* Perform independent nursing functions and delegated medical functions in accordance with accepted practice standards defined by the state Board of Nursing
* Evaluate health status through the ongoing collection and assessment of health data
* Provide supportive and restorative therapy and treatment directly to patients or indirectly through consultation, delegation, supervision, or teaching of others
* Execute delegated medical functions
* Refer patients for further evaluation or treatment as needed
* Review and monitor therapy and treatment plans
* Document according to hospital and regulatory guidelines
* Utilize resources as necessary
* Promote the mission, vision, and values of the organization and abide by service behavior standards
* Perform other duties as assigned
* May be required to float to other departments based on business need
* May be required to be placed on-call during a regularly scheduled shift
