Role Summary

This position is dedicated to enhancing educational experiences to promote academic achievement and student involvement through tailored support and resource facilitation. Key responsibilities include maintaining educational standards, ensuring adherence to institutional policies, and promoting collaborative efforts to align with the academy's objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Employ a variety of teaching methods and resources for course delivery, ensuring alignment with institutional standards.
  • Customize curriculum materials to meet the diverse needs of students and foster a supportive learning atmosphere.
  • Evaluate and document student academic and social development, providing grades and progress updates.
  • Implement assessment programs, conduct necessary evaluations, and assist with transitions to post-secondary education.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with students, parents, and advocates, proactively addressing any concerns.
  • Participate in educational planning meetings (e.g., SST, IEP) and contribute to curriculum enhancement.
  • Identify and address student challenges in collaboration with professional staff.
  • Manage independent study documentation and keep student database information current.
  • Engage in continuous professional development and effectively incorporate technology into teaching practices.
  • Supervise and engage in school-related activities.
  • Contribute to faculty committees, student initiatives, and school-wide projects.
  • Proctor examinations during assessment periods.
  • Respond promptly to school-related communications within 24 business hours.
  • Document and report student disciplinary actions, assisting in resolution processes and adhering to relevant regulations.
  • Support the growth of the academy by participating in initiatives aimed at increasing student enrollment.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Technology Proficiency

Proficient in utilizing educational software, Google Suite applications, Microsoft Office, and web-based tools for effective teaching and communication.

Physical Requirements

This role necessitates meeting specific physical demands to perform job functions effectively, including auditory and verbal communication, manual dexterity, operation of computers and machinery, visual acuity for reading and observing students, flexibility for bending or kneeling, and the ability to sit or stand for extended periods. The position may involve lifting up to 25 pounds independently and managing heavier loads with assistance. Additionally, travel for student meetings is required. Work Environment

This position operates in a virtual home office setting, requiring a flexible schedule and the ability to travel for student support, meetings, and school events. Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • Must possess a valid California teaching credential, with preference for authorization to teach English learners.
