About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Veterinary Technician or Assistant to join our team at Vets Pets. As a key member of our veterinary team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support to our clients.

Responsibilities
  • Client Communication and Education: Develop strong relationships with clients, obtain thorough medical histories, and educate them on their pets' health and well-being.
  • Diagnostic Imaging and Laboratory Procedures: Assist with laboratory procedures, including hematology, cytology, urinalysis, microbiology, blood chemistry, and fecal exams. Perform diagnostic imaging and implement safety protocols for fellow staff members.
  • Nursing Skills and Patient Care: Provide nursing care, including restraining patients, administering medications, applying and maintaining bandages, and proficient IV catheter placement and venipuncture. Assist with surgery prep and anesthesia monitoring.
Requirements
  • Professional Certification or Licensure: Hold a Veterinary Technician Certification or Licensure (CVT, RVT, LVT, or LVMT) or have the ability to transfer credentials from state to state. Alternatively, have experience as a Veterinary Assistant.
  • Excellent Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with clients, veterinarians, and other staff members.
