Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly qualified Adjunct Professor of Astronomy to join our team at Mt. San Antonio College. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching courses in basic astronomy to a diverse population of students.
Key Responsibilities- Teach courses in basic astronomy, including lectures, discussions, and laboratory sessions.
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that meet the needs of students with diverse learning styles.
- Assess student learning and provide constructive feedback to promote academic success.
- Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the development of curriculum and instructional materials.
- Collaborate with colleagues to promote a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Masters degree in physics, astronomy, or astrophysics, or a related field.
- Experience in teaching astronomy at the post-secondary level.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment.
- PhD in astronomy or a related field.
- Experience in teaching astronomy at the community college level.
- Strong background in astronomy research and publication.
