Position Summary

As a Chief Architect, you will play a pivotal role in delivering customer-centric software and IT projects within a fast-paced and dynamic environment. This position entails supporting a cross-functional team that collaborates directly with the customer's front office staff to establish the technical direction for the center.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advise on a new, cohesive architecture for the center's teams, assisting in the development of a 4–5-year plan for a new data environment.
  • Collaborate with software engineers, data scientists, analysts, project managers, and other engineering groups to provide support in data extraction, transformation, and load (ETL), data mapping, analytics, operations, databases, and system maintenance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field, or 10 years of equivalent work experience.
  • A minimum of ten (10) years of experience in software engineering and IT architecture design, focusing on maximizing IT capabilities for data processing and user workflows.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in building cloud-compatible, service-oriented, highly scalable, and web-enabled enterprise applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate and deliver within an Enterprise IT lifecycle, including system security, data processing, software development methodologies, and technology transitions.
  • Experience in integrating cloud technologies within the Intelligence Community.
  • Strong background in Agile methodologies, leading teams of engineering professionals to deliver incremental value.
  • Experience in developing and prioritizing backlogs with stakeholders and team members.
  • Expertise in building and evolving large-scale data warehouses using COTS, GOTS, and open-source technologies that meet compliance and recovery requirements.

Desired Skills

  • Experience transitioning legacy IT solutions to cloud environments, optimizing solutions for cloud platforms.
  • Prior experience in engineering integrated technical solutions for high-volume data types to meet near real-time operational needs.
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes clusters and containerized workloads.
  • Knowledge of data transformation and analytics technologies and processes.
  • Experience in integrating new technologies into existing systems to enhance capabilities and meet user requirements.

Compensation

The anticipated salary range for this position is $220,000 - $250,000, contingent upon experience, geographic location, and contractual requirements.
