New York, New York, United States Shasta Health Full time

Shasta Health

Part-Time Physical Rehabilitation Specialist, Flexible, Mobile Outpatient

Shasta Health is seeking PRN physical rehabilitation specialists who excel in outpatient care and are interested in the potential for future telehealth opportunities as early contributors to a rapidly growing healthcare startup.

Supported by YCombinator, Shasta Health provides in-home, outpatient-style physical therapy at a fraction of the cost of conventional services.

At Shasta Health, we believe that satisfied therapists lead to exceptional patient experiences. As a hybrid AI/healthcare organization, our focus is on minimizing distractions in patient care, allowing you to deliver the highest quality service. Our AI technology simplifies documentation, billing, and scheduling, and we compensate you for the time spent on these tasks. This is not a generic solution; our system is specifically designed for clinicians and patients to collaborate effectively.

About You:

  • You hold a valid NY physical therapy license and are dedicated to providing patient care across various age groups, starting with Medicare patients.
  • You possess an entrepreneurial mindset, ready to go the extra mile to ensure optimal care for your patients, regardless of their circumstances, and are eager to contribute to a burgeoning health tech startup.
  • You are interested in integrating outpatient physical therapy with in-home benefits and are open to expanding into telehealth.
  • You seek a flexible work schedule or an additional side opportunity that offers autonomy.
  • You are comfortable treating Medicare patients and are open to working with diverse patient populations as we expand.
  • You have a minimum of one year of direct patient care experience with the Medicare demographic.

The Role:

  • Direct Patient Care: You will provide treatment to Medicare patients in their homes while being open to telehealth and other patient groups.
  • Flexibility: You will have the freedom to set your own schedule, determining when and where to see patients, with some required flexibility throughout the week.
  • Contractual Arrangement: Initially, you will work as a part-time contractor, with the potential to transition into full-time roles as the company grows.
  • Caseload and Location: You will be expected to work a minimum of 3-5 hours per week, treating 5-10 patients in-person weekly, with the ability to adjust based on demand.
  • Advanced Technology: Our software platform manages scheduling, documentation, home exercises, and billing, allowing you to focus on patient care rather than paperwork.
  • Engagement in Tech/Product Development: You will collaborate with experienced clinicians and have direct access to leadership, providing input on the care model and software functionality, while also experimenting with innovative technologies.

Requirements:

  • Valid NY State PT license.
  • Proximity to Manhattan, with the capability to treat patients in their homes in the area.
  • At least one year of direct patient care experience with the Medicare population.
  • CPR/BLS certification.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with documentation systems such as WebPT and StrataPT.
  • Experience in patient acquisition.
  • Previous involvement in outpatient at-home physical therapy services.
  • Residency training or board certification.
  • Verifiable Medicare Credentialing (NPI number).
  • Personal transportation and a valid driver's license.
  • Liability insurance.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Hourly rate of $80-150 for patient care.
  • Documentation stipend for up to 2 hours per week, based on volume.
  • Travel stipend determined by patient volume.
  • 1099 contractor status, with future opportunities for full-time and internal positions based on performance.

Thank you for considering a career with Shasta Health. We look forward to connecting with you.
