Job Summary

Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE) is seeking a highly qualified individual to fill the position of Clinical Assistant Professor in the School of Education, Health and Human Behavior, Department of Applied Health. This is a nine-month appointment with the possibility of summer teaching assignments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach in the Master of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics program as well as the undergraduate nutrition program.
  • Develop and implement curriculum to meet the needs of students.
  • Coordinate supervised practice experiences for graduate students.
  • Contribute to the department's service, research, and outreach efforts.
  • Participate in departmental and university-wide committees and initiatives.
Requirements
  • Earned doctoral degree (e.g., PhD, EdD, DCN) in Nutrition or a closely related field.
  • Registered Dietitian credential and licensure (RD, LD).
  • Relevant professional experience in nutrition and/or food service management.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to diversity and inclusion.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Evidence of ability to teach effectively at the university level.
  • Experience teaching and/or precepting in dietetics programs.
  • Working knowledge of coordination of supervised practice experiences.
  • Prior management experience and/or familiarity with the accreditation standards specified by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND).
