Job Description

We are currently seeking an experienced Service Technician to join our team at the Fuquay-Varina store. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in performing service repairs on agricultural and turf equipment.

 

BASIC FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform basic diagnostic and repair tasks on agricultural and turf equipment and established Ag Management Solutions (AMS) products.
  • Be responsible for disassembling, assembling, and repairing components and machines.
  • Perform all service tasks assigned by the Service Manager.
  • Prepare detailed reports of work performed on repair orders.
  • Report any additional work required on equipment to the Service Manager for safe operation by the customer.
  • Participate in all training programs as directed by the Service Manager.
  • Account for all time and materials used in performing work duties.
  • Maintain a clean work area and perform tasks in a neat and orderly fashion.
  • Report any issues with shop tools, equipment, or vehicles that are in a serviceable condition or unsafe for use.
  • Follow all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments.

 

EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:

  • A High School Diploma or equivalent experience is required.
  • At least 1+ year(s) of experience performing service repairs is necessary.
  • The ability to write diagnosis and work completed on routine reports is essential.
  • Proficient knowledge of engines, transmissions, electrical systems, and/or hydraulic systems is required.
  • The ability to use personal computers and various types of diagnostic equipment is necessary.
  • The ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals is required.
  • The ability to perform basic repairs and required maintenance using special tools and equipment following Technical Manual procedures is essential.
  • The ability to communicate effectively with customers is necessary.
  • A valid driver's license is required for potential driving situations.
  • The ability to operate a forklift is preferred.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Lifting up to 50 lbs. is required.
  • Squatting, bending, lifting, reaching, twisting, standing, and sitting are common physical demands.
  • Working with PCs, smart devices, and close detailed work requires good visual skills.
  • Occasional driving for short and long distances is part of the job.
  • Dexterity is necessary for grasping and manipulating standard tools and office equipment.
  • Moderate to high noise levels are present in the work environment.

Estimated Salary Range: $45,000 - $65,000 per annum, depending on experience.
