Job Summary

Marshfield Medical Center - Weston is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Nutrition Specialist to join our interdisciplinary team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive diabetes education and care to diverse populations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the care of diabetes patients through individual, group, and follow-up instruction in healthcare aspects of diabetes management.
  • Utilize the Nutrition Care Process (NCP) and standards of care to provide care management for patients with diabetes under the supervision and protocol of the organization's physicians within the scope of practice of the Registered Dietitian certification.
  • Develop and implement effective diabetes education programs to promote healthy lifestyle choices and improve patient outcomes.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure seamless care coordination and communication.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest research, guidelines, and best practices in diabetes care and education.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in human nutrition, nutrition education, food and nutrition, dietetics, food systems management, or related field.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with calculations using fractions, decimals, and percentages.
  • State of Wisconsin Certified Dietitian certification.
  • Registered Dietitian (RD) credential awarded by the Commission of Dietetic Registration (CDR).
  • Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) certification awarded by the National Certification Board for Diabetes Care and Education (CBDCE) within 24 months of hire.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) within three months of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in human nutrition, nutrition education, food and nutrition, dietetics, food systems management, or related field.
  • Three years of experience in clinical nutrition.
  • Experience in diabetes self-management education and care.
  • Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) certification awarded by the National Certification Board for Diabetes Care and Education (CBDCE) at time of hire.
