This is a senior-level management position, and you will be comfortable making authoritative decisions and recommendations to improve environmental services operations.
This includes initiating, maintaining, and nurturing valuable relationships with key clients, prospects, state and local authorities, and other industry individuals.
Experience in a business development role that has included lead generation, networking, new client development, and expansion of portfolios with existing clients is a plus and a strong differentiator.
You will need to manage projects from conception to closeout.
This includes managing and working with senior staff, junior staff, and subcontractors to ensure that our client deliverables are on time and complete.
This position could require approximately up to 25% travel within Florida and surrounding states.
Responsibilities:- 6+ years of progressive environmental project experience including the coordination and management of projects consisting of site investigation, remediation, and monitoring, general environmental compliance and/or natural resources.
- Conduct site assessments, environmental investigations, and remediation activities.
- Provide technical expertise and oversee project teams to ensure successful project delivery.
- Prepare and review technical reports, proposals, and regulatory documents.
- Work closely with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) and other regulatory agencies.
- Lead and grow new business opportunities within the Florida territory.
- Utilize your existing network to bring in new contacts and work opportunities.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships with existing clients to secure new projects.
- Have a diverse background in environmental site assessment, remediation, risk assessment, and field sampling (soils, groundwater, and surface water).
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geology, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Professional Geologist (PG) license in Florida.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in environmental remediation, environmental science, or the oil and gas industry.
- Strong understanding of FDEP regulations and processes.
- Proven track record of business development and territory growth.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to meet deadlines, both internally and externally.
- Must be able to perform complex tasks and handle multiple priorities.
- Independently problem-solve and work autonomously with a sense of urgency.
- Exceptional writing, grammatical, and verbal communication skills.
- Required knowledge of computer operations and standard software packages (Microsoft 365 and Adobe).
- Current OHSA 40-Hour HAZWOPER Certification.
- Must have a safe driving record and a valid Driver's License and must have a satisfactory driving record by the Company's driving policy.
- Ability to pass a background check.
Experience working inside and outside in Florida and the surrounding states. Weather and environmental conditions are subject to change daily.
While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is often required to sit or stand for extended periods of time, walk (at times over uneven surfaces), reach with arms and hands, and to stoop or kneel.
Personal protective equipment and/or clothing is required in the field.
