Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Childhood Educator to join our team of professionals at the Catholic Diocese of San Diego. As a Preschool Teacher, you will be responsible for creating a safe, stimulating, and inviting early education environment that fosters the growth and development of every child.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teaching and Curriculum Development: Implement learning activities and opportunities in the early education preschool setting, and work in collaboration with colleagues to plan and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum.
  • Classroom Management: Manage daily operations of the preschool program, create and maintain a safe and organized classroom environment, and establish a professional relationship with parents.
  • Staff Supervision: Provide training and direction for Preschool Instructional Assistants, and supervise playground and other areas of duty as required.
  • Administrative Tasks: Maintain accurate attendance and safety logs, communicate regularly with parents, and perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Religious Qualifications: Active, practicing Roman Catholic (preferred), and basic Preschool Catechetical Certification (preferred).
  • Professional Qualifications: Proof of completion of 12 or more Early Childhood Education (ECE) Units, clear criminal background check, and experience teaching in a preschool classroom.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to spend the majority of the day standing, sitting, walking, and kneeling or squatting to interact with students.
