As a key member of the University Medical Center of El Paso team, the Operating Room Nurse Manager will provide strategic support to the Department and Nurse Managers in the management of specialized areas of practice within the Operating Room. This role will be responsible for managing the service line surgery schedule, ordering and maintaining inventory, and updating OR/Hospital protocols related to surgery.
Key Responsibilities- Operational Management: Manage the day-to-day operations of the Operating Room, ensuring seamless coordination and communication among team members.
- Schedule Management: Oversee the scheduling of surgical procedures, ensuring efficient use of resources and minimizing delays.
- Inventory Management: Order and maintain inventory of supplies and equipment, ensuring adequate stock levels and minimizing waste.
- Protocol Development: Collaborate with Nurse Managers and other stakeholders to develop and update OR/Hospital protocols related to surgery.
- Quality Reporting: Provide regular quality reports to stakeholders, highlighting areas of improvement and best practices.
- Patient Care: Provide high-quality patient care to patients undergoing surgical procedures, utilizing the nursing process and evidence-based practice guidelines.
- Education and Training: Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with best practices and advancements in surgical nursing.
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required.
- Experience: One year of experience as a Registered Nurse in a hospital-based acute care setting, preferably in the Operating Room.
- Licensure: Current TX/Compact RN License required.
- Certifications: CPR, ACLS, and PALS certifications required.
- Skills: Demonstrated proficiency in acute care nursing, effective communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
