Job Summary

Bassett Healthcare Network is seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse III - Acute Care Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our nursing practice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver safe and effective patient care utilizing the nursing process
  • Assess, plan, deliver, coordinate, integrate, and evaluate nursing care related to patient needs
  • Contribute to the support of patients through interdisciplinary teamwork
  • Ensure that care provided is consistent with applicable standards, regulations, statutes, and state and federal law
  • Provide nursing care and services to patients throughout the life span and in various settings consistent with educational preparation
  • Collect, analyze, and record relevant patient health data accurately
  • Identify patient problems and develop a plan of care that describes interventions to attain expected outcomes
  • Implement and record interventions appropriate to diagnosis or patient problem
  • Evaluate patient progress toward attainment of identified goals
  • Adhere to approved, research-based practice standards
  • Direct and supervise patient care provided by LPNs and support personnel
  • Act effectively as charge nurse, group leader, or preceptor when assigned
  • Write progress notes that demonstrate an understanding of the patient's status and progress toward achievement of goals
  • Precept new staff members or students
  • Perform other duties as requested
Requirements
  • 2-year Associate degree in Nursing, required
  • Minimum 3 years Registered Nurse experience, 1 year must have been in a relevant practice area, required
  • Must be able to perform as a preceptor, required
  • Previous experience as a charge nurse/leadership role, preferred
  • Current NYS license as a Registered Nurse, required
  • BLS certification will be required within 6 months
