Senior Cloud Engineer, Cloud Platform
The Position
We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Infrastructure Engineer with a robust understanding of infrastructure, security, and governance principles to assist in the development and management of our cloud platform. In this role, you will collaborate with a skilled team of engineers, architecting and constructing the core systems that enable our organization to leverage the advantages of cloud technology.
Key Responsibilities and Skills Required:
· A bachelor’s degree or higher in a technology-related discipline (e.g., Engineering, Computer Science, etc.)
· Over 5 years of experience in software engineering.
· Preferred certifications include: AWS Solutions Architect, AWS Developer, AWS SysOps Administrator, or Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA).
· A strong commitment to excellence, automation, innovation, and teamwork.
· Willingness to learn new technologies and adapt to evolving work methodologies.
· A curious mindset that brings fresh perspectives to the team.
· Capable of performing root cause analysis and making informed decisions under pressure.
· Creative problem-solving skills in a dynamic environment.
· Effective communication skills to collaborate with diverse individuals and groups, both in-person and virtually.
· Confidence and caution in high-stakes production scenarios to resolve outages.
· Strong foundation in networking, virtualization, storage, containers, and serverless architecture.
· Comprehensive understanding of cloud IAM controls and policies.
· Proficient in Kubernetes concepts, with experience in maintaining infrastructure and deploying applications to clusters.
· Experience with Linux and Windows servers, ideally with a focus on systems administration.
· Ability to automate processes using various scripting languages (Python, Shell scripting, etc.).
· Experience in developing serverless functions using Python and Boto.
· Proven track record in writing automated tests and utilizing testing tools.
· Hands-on experience in building and deploying applications in a public cloud environment, preferably AWS or Azure.
· Familiarity with containers and container orchestration is preferred.
· Experience managing systems with infrastructure as code tools (CloudFormation, Ansible, Terraform, ARM, etc.).
· Understanding of version control and release practices (SCM), along with code collaboration practices (Git).
· Proficiency with CI/CD tools, particularly Jenkins/JenkinsCore.
· Experience in managing and analyzing large datasets using query languages and visualization tools.
· Background in Enterprise IT asset management or related practices.
· Experience in defining and implementing a comprehensive cloud reliability and observability strategy to ensure the availability of cloud systems.
· Ability to address engineering challenges across hardware, software, network, applications, and cloud services.
