Reporting Structure: Reports to the Assistant Director of Industrial Operations
Physical Demands: Candidates should maintain general good health, with the ability to lift up to 50lbs, climb, stand for extended periods, bend, stoop, push, pull, and reach.
Work Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday, with staggered shifts as necessary.
Compensation: The salary range is $18.45 to $26.38 per hour.
Position Summary:
The Lead Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the production and packaging processes within the Manufacturing/Industrial Operations sector. This role involves directing and monitoring the activities of labor staff while collaborating with departmental management to meet operational objectives. The Lead Supervisor is accountable for setting up, monitoring, troubleshooting, and ensuring the quality of production outputs.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma is mandatory.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in a leadership role is required.
- Experience in production and/or manufacturing environments is preferred.
- Basic mathematical skills are essential.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications (Microsoft Office) is required.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English is necessary.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely and accurately operate various filling and packaging machinery throughout production areas, including food, chemical, and dry product fills.
- Supervise assembly and packaging operations, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and standard operating procedures.
- Maintain comprehensive product knowledge and fulfillment requirements while upholding quality control standards.
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of all production documentation and record-keeping.
- Oversee that all tasks are completed safely and efficiently within designated areas, assisting with the movement of materials and inventory.
- Ensure compliance with safety, sanitation, and quality control procedures.
- Monitor machine operations for efficiency and report maintenance needs as required.
- Provide guidance and direction to all direct labor employees in assigned areas.
- Evaluate and coach the performance and behavior of direct labor staff.
- Conduct training for direct labor employees as necessary.
- Perform routine inventory counts to ensure accountability and accuracy, minimizing waste and maximizing production.
- Manage team responsibilities in accordance with New York State and Ability One Preferred Source guidelines.
- Complete annual evaluations for individual employment, documenting any disabilities and necessary accommodations as per New York State and Ability One guidelines.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
