The School Licensed Practical Nurse Ambulatory plays a vital role in providing health services to students within the schools. This position requires a caring and compassionate individual who can provide health education, medication management, and emotional support to students with chronic health issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide health services to students, including health education and medication management
  • Identify health needs during the school day and provide referrals to higher levels of care as needed
  • Support the education process by working to assure the health of students
  • Promote healthy habits and overall health to strengthen maximum learning

Requirements:

  • Graduate of a recognized accredited school of practical nursing or three years related professional nursing experience
  • Current Indiana Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license required
  • One year or more of nursing experience required
  • Two years of experience working with pediatric patients required
  • Excellent communication and team skills
  • Compassionate and caring
  • Accountable and self-directed
