We are seeking a highly skilled Fishery Biologist 2 to join our team at the Alaska Department of Fish and Game, Division of Commercial Fisheries in Kodiak.

  • As a Fishery Biologist 2, you will be responsible for conducting research and analysis to inform fisheries management decisions.
  • You will work closely with a team of scientists and managers to develop and implement effective conservation and management strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct field and laboratory research to collect and analyze data on fish populations and habitats.
  • Develop and implement research designs and methodologies to address complex fisheries management issues.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including fishermen, conservation groups, and other government agencies to develop and implement effective management strategies.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as biology, chemistry, or environmental science.
  • Experience in fisheries research and management, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
