Job Overview: Are you a proficient and knowledgeable Articulated Tug Barge (ATB) Assistant Engineer? We are seeking an individual to become a vital part of our engineering team focused on LNG ATB operations. Your primary responsibilities will include managing engineering functions, ensuring adherence to maritime standards, assisting with navigation tasks, and collaborating with a dedicated team of maritime experts. The successful candidate will possess significant maritime experience, robust engineering capabilities, expertise in LNG bunkering, and a strong commitment to safety and environmental practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the safe and effective operation and upkeep of machinery, systems, and operational areas.
- Adhere to established protocols within the Safety Management System (SMS).
- Recognize and report unsafe conditions or areas needing improvement.
- Collaborate with outgoing engineers to gain insights into equipment and operational status.
- Provide comprehensive turnover information to relief personnel during each watch and crew change.
- Keep the Chief Engineer updated on any unusual conditions or maintenance requirements that may impact safety.
- Maintain precise logs and records of engine performance, fuel consumption, and maintenance activities.
- Assist in reporting fuel and lubricant oil usage, including sample handling and log maintenance.
- Support the loading, utilization, and transfer of oils and water.
- Monitor inventory levels of spare parts and supplies.
- Engage in onboard tasks as assigned.
- Conduct general maintenance and other designated responsibilities.
- Contribute to the navigation of the tug and barge.
Qualifications:
- Possess a 3rd Assistant Engineer Unlimited Oceans certification or equivalent.
- Hold a current Medical Certificate.
- LG Tankerman Assistant, PIC certification is preferred.
- Have a valid passport and TWIC.
- Exhibit the ability to work safely in marine environments and meet physical demands.
