We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Utility Service Technician to join our team at the City of Grand Prairie, TX. As a key member of our Public Works Department, you will be responsible for performing repairs and maintenance of water distribution and wastewater lines, operating various gas/hydraulic equipment, and ensuring safe work zones.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform repairs to water lines, sewer lines, and other infrastructure components
  • Operate gas/hydraulic equipment and tools to complete tasks efficiently
  • Conduct preventative maintenance to ensure optimal system performance
  • Install sewer and water taps, and conduct repairs to hydrants and valves
  • Work in confined spaces, including sewer holes, and handle foul odors and sewer waste
Requirements:
  • 2 years of experience in conducting repairs and maintenance of water distribution lines and wastewater lines
  • Valid Class A Driver's License with tanker endorsement within 30 days of employment
  • Class I Collections License within 6 months and Class C Distribution or Class II Collections License within 30 months of employment
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including shift work, weekends, and holidays
