We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Fluent Spanish Educator to join our team at Uncommon Schools in Brooklyn. As a key member of our faculty, you will play a critical role in shaping the linguistic and cultural horizons of our students.

The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced educator with a passion for teaching Spanish language and culture to high school students. As a Fluent Spanish Educator, you will be responsible for developing and implementing engaging lesson plans that promote language proficiency, cultural awareness, and academic excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver instructional strategies that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities.
  • Cultivate a positive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters student engagement and motivation.
  • Assess student progress and adjust instruction to meet individual needs.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum and share best practices.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay updated on teaching methodologies and language pedagogy.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution or equivalent experience.
  • Valid New Jersey teacher certification or eligibility (we provide support for certification within a reasonable timeframe).
  • Proven experience in teaching Spanish language and culture to high school students.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to closing the academic achievement gap and serving historically under-resourced communities.
