Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the ordering and stocking of medications and supplies, preparing and mixing medications under the supervision of a Head Nurse, RN, and coordinating with drug sales representatives and pharmaceutical companies.
Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate records of medication inventory and ordering.
- Prepare and mix medications under the supervision of a Head Nurse, RN.
- Coordinate with drug sales representatives and pharmaceutical companies to obtain samples, teaching aids, and compassionate drugs.
- Act as liaison between Physicians, Nursing, Pharmacy Supervisor, and Purchasing to obtain special order medications.
Qualifications
- Minimum of three years' experience in the healthcare field, preferably in a clinical setting as a Pharmacy Technician.
- PTCB Certification or Florida Registered Pharmacy Technician (RPT) is required.
- Medical terminology and attention to detail.
- Fluency in the English language and strong communication skills to interact with a wide variety of personalities.
- Ability to travel occasionally for educational and research meetings, as well as training sessions.
