Production Assembler Job Description

About the Position

Safe Fleet is seeking a skilled Production Assembler to join our team in Elmhurst, IL. As a Production Assembler, you will play a critical role in the manufacturing process, ensuring the highest quality products are produced efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process parts and sub-assemblies with precision and accuracy
  • Read and follow travelers and work instructions to ensure quality and efficiency
  • Perform routine daily equipment maintenance to prevent downtime and ensure optimal performance
  • Conduct in-process and final inspections to ensure products meet quality standards
  • Prepare products for shipment and maintain a clean and organized work environment
  • Cross-train in other areas and departments to support team goals and objectives
  • Follow attendance and work rules policy to ensure a safe and productive work environment

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred
  • Ability to read a tape measure, use hand tools, and operate semi-automatic manufacturing equipment
  • Effective communication skills to work with supervisors and co-workers
  • Ability to read blueprints and understand written instructions

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

The Production Assembler will work in a heated and non-air conditioned manufacturing/warehouse setting. Safety glasses with side shields are required in the manufacturing environment. The physical requirements of the position include frequent reaching, gripping, and carrying up to 50 lb., as well as standing, stooping, bending, stretching, squatting, and walking.
