Position Overview:
The Furniture Sales Supervisor plays a crucial role in steering the furniture sales team towards achieving sales targets and operational excellence. This position is responsible for overseeing the performance of the furniture department, ensuring that merchandising and presentation standards are upheld, and that sales metrics are met.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership: Direct and manage the operational performance of the furniture department, focusing on sales processes, team training, and customer service excellence.
- Coaching: Provide clear guidance and training to team members on the sales process, including product knowledge, merchandising techniques, and customer engagement strategies.
- Performance Feedback: Regularly communicate with store leadership regarding team performance and areas for improvement.
- Customer Assistance: Aid customers in selecting and purchasing furniture, ensuring they are informed about delivery options and services.
- Inventory Management: Oversee inventory levels and conduct regular audits to optimize sales and inventory turnover.
- Display Management: Identify and address display needs promptly to maintain high merchandising standards.
- Continuous Improvement: Strive to enhance the sales performance of the furniture department, ensuring that all standards for merchandising, recovery, and cleanliness are consistently met.
- Manager on Duty: Assume managerial responsibilities as needed, providing leadership and ensuring that all operational standards are upheld.
- Store Recovery: Assist with the overall recovery of the store when necessary.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent experience is required.
- Preferred experience includes at least one year in retail sales.
- Demonstrated skills in furniture merchandising and sales are advantageous.
- Strong customer service and communication abilities are essential.
- Physical capability to lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds is required.
- Availability for a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends, is necessary.
- Basic literacy, numeracy, and computer skills are required.
