Position Summary

The Environmental, Health, and Safety Manager is responsible for supporting and implementing EHS strategies at both corporate and site levels. This role is crucial in identifying and mitigating hazardous workplace conditions, as well as establishing and maintaining programs that promote a safe, accident-free, and healthy work environment. Key responsibilities include ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations concerning the health, safety, and welfare of employees.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate the alignment of corporate and local EHS objectives through site-level planning and execution.
  • Oversee compliance governance related to safety, health, and environmental standards.
  • Manage emergency response protocols and provide support during emergency situations.
  • Implement tracking systems for hazardous and non-hazardous waste, and develop strategies to minimize environmental impacts.
  • Contribute to initiatives aimed at enhancing associate and community engagement.
  • Develop, review, and ensure the execution of annual EHS programs.
  • Document and address all EHS-related topics using appropriate tools for new processes, projects, or equipment.
  • Participate in audits conducted by corporate, internal cross-audits, and government agencies.
  • Analyze near misses and incidents to prevent recurrence and achieve reduction goals.
  • Provide necessary data and reports to focus factories, collaborating closely with factory managers for guidance and support.
  • Lead and mentor EHS team members to foster a culture of safety.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental, Health, and Safety or a related discipline.
  • Preferred certifications such as ASP, CSP, or CIH related to EHS.
  • Five to seven years of relevant experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Strong understanding of OSHA regulations applicable to general industry.
  • Proven problem-solving skills and experience leading incident investigations.
  • Proficient in computer applications, particularly Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to interpret business documentation, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Effective communication skills for presenting information and responding to inquiries.
  • Strong writing skills for reports, business correspondence, and procedural documentation.

Physical and Travel Requirements

  • Light physical work is required.
  • Travel requirements are minimal, ranging from 1-20%.
