As a member of the Army National Guard, you'll have the opportunity to develop your skills as a Mortar Squad Specialist. In this role, you'll be responsible for setting up, loading, and firing mortars, as well as employing crew and weapons in offensive, defensive, and retrograde ground combat. You'll also operate, clean, and store automatic weapons, and employ, fire, and recover anti-personnel and anti-tank mines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate mortars in various environments
- Lead and train other Soldiers in mortar squad operations
- Provide tactical and technical guidance to subordinates
- Supervise the construction of mortar positions
Requirements:

Earn While You Learn:
In the Army National Guard, you'll have the opportunity to earn a regular paycheck while you learn and develop your skills. You'll attend 10 weeks of Basic Training, followed by 14 weeks of Advanced Individual Training (AIT), where you'll learn the skills you need to succeed as a Mortar Squad Specialist. And with the Army National Guard, you'll have the opportunity to serve your country while you learn and grow as a professional.
