The Educational Pathway Consultant plays a vital role in providing guidance and planning services to students at a community college. The Consultant supports students in early career exploration, educational planning, course selection, and understanding graduation criteria. Advising may be delivered through various formats, including group sessions, one-on-one meetings, and virtual platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver academic guidance to students within their initial 30 credits;
  • Develop academic plans based on degree pathway frameworks;
  • Guide students in exploring degree options, selecting courses, and navigating institutional processes;
  • Conduct group advising sessions and workshops;
  • Assess transcripts for appropriate course placement;
  • Maintain accurate student records and communicate academic policies;
  • Engage in advising events and workshops;

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree OR Associate degree with 3 years of experience in academic advising;
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in academic advising within an educational environment;
  • Experience working with diverse student populations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree;
  • Experience in higher education, particularly in a community college setting;
  • Familiarity with student development theories and academic advising methodologies;
  • Experience with student information systems.
