The Critical Care Registered Nurse (RN) plays a vital role in providing exceptional patient care in the intensive care unit (ICU). This position involves a 13-week contract with night shifts from 7 PM to 7 AM.
Certification RequirementsApplicants must possess valid BLS and ACLS certifications from AHA.
Key Responsibilities- Assess and manage patients' health conditions, utilizing the nursing process to address actual or potential health issues.
- Coordinate care with interdisciplinary teams, delegating tasks to nursing staff and supervising their activities.
- Deliver direct patient care while evaluating the effectiveness of treatment plans.
- Engage in professional development and contribute to the establishment of nursing practice standards.
To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
- Current licensure in New York State or eligibility for a limited practice permit.
- A Bachelor’s degree in nursing is preferred.
This position is primarily conducted indoors under standard working conditions. Candidates should be capable of:
- Performing physical tasks such as lifting/moving up to 15 lbs and pushing/pulling 25 lbs.
- Engaging in activities that require fine motor skills, including typing and data entry.
- Maintaining mobility to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
Effective communication skills are essential, including the ability to understand and articulate the English language, both spoken and written.
