Coastal Geospatial Expert

We are seeking a highly skilled Geospatial Analyst to join our team at RTI International. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing GIS functions, including overlay analysis, data import/export, and development of geospatial databases.
Key Responsibilities- Compile, process, and analyze data of varying scales and sources to produce derived products, maps, statistics, and other information.
- Work independently to achieve day-to-day objectives with significant impact on operational results or project deliverables.
- Responsible for major tasks on complex projects or processes within a technical area.
- May be responsible for coaching and reviewing the work of lower-level technical staff.
- Advises on the development of solutions that require collaboration with internal and external experts and deep analyses and understanding of impact on end-product/solution.
- Provides hands-on technical assistance to partners and supports facilitation of partner meetings.
- Reviews and proofs own work for accuracy and completeness.
- Follows all applicable guidelines for QA/QC.
- Maintains files to document work performed, including calculations, GIS procedures and tools, spreadsheets, memoranda, references, reviewer comments, etc.
- Minimum of a Master's degree with at least 3 years of experience analyzing geographic information about the earth's coasts, oceans, and Great Lakes or equivalent.
- Experience providing technical and analytical assistance to address a variety of climate resilience issues.
- Demonstrated technical, operational, and project management skills.
- Must be able to work from a coastal community anywhere in the defined region.
- To qualify, applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States and should not require now, or in the future, sponsorship for employment visa status.
- Expert GIS user with ArcGIS or similar (e.g. QGIS).
- Ability to automate a series of methods using Model Builder or Python to be more productive.
- Expert skills with MS Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to work well with others.
- Ability to listen and communicate well both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to work independently.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to take direction and to complete tasks under given time constraints.
