Job Summary

Great Plains Health is seeking a skilled Labor and Delivery Nurse to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and ensuring the best possible outcomes for mothers and newborns.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess patient physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural, and discharge planning needs.
  • Review patient history and physical with patient/family and ensure completion within an appropriate timeframe.
  • Review available information obtained by other healthcare team members.
  • Review diagnostics and laboratory data and report abnormal results to the physician(s) and other appropriate caregivers.
  • Complete assessments and reassessments according to patient need and as outlined in policy.
  • Formulate a plan of care, including the discharge plan, utilizing assessment data and patient, family, and health team input.
  • Initiate a plan of care based on patient-specific needs, assessment data, and the medical plan of care.
  • Develop realistic, measurable, and patient-centered goals in conjunction with the patient/family.
  • Consider the physical, cultural, psychosocial, spiritual, age-specific, and educational needs of the patient in the plan of care.
  • Plan care in collaboration with members of the multidisciplinary team.
  • Review and revise the plan of care to reflect changing patient needs based on evaluation of the patient's status.
Requirements
  • Trained in Labor and Delivery and able to circulate C-sections, care for post-partum patients.
  • May also float to Med Surg.
