Job Summary

The City of Covina, CA is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Police Officer to join our team. As a Police Officer, you will be responsible for maintaining law and order, protecting the community, and upholding the highest standards of professionalism and integrity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patrol assigned areas by car, foot, motorcycle, or bicycle to prevent and detect crime
  • Respond to emergency calls, conduct investigations, and gather evidence
  • Enforce traffic laws, issue citations, and make arrests as necessary
  • Provide assistance to the public, including first aid and crisis intervention
  • Collaborate with other law enforcement agencies and community organizations to build trust and improve public safety
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework in criminology, police sciences, or a related field preferred
  • Must be a graduate of a CA POST Certified Police Academy or currently enrolled in one
  • Possession of a valid California Class C driver's license required
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident alien who is eligible and has applied for U.S. citizenship
