Tact Staff is currently seeking a travel nurse RN specializing in the ICU - Intensive Care Unit for an exciting travel nursing opportunity.
Position Overview & Requirements- Specialty: ICU - Intensive Care Unit
- Discipline: Registered Nurse (RN)
- Duration: 13 weeks
- 36 hours per week
- Shift Length: 12 hours
- Employment Type: Travel
Note: Requests for time off after booking are not permitted and cannot be negotiated on-site. Any cancellations or additional time off on the unit may lead to potential cancellations. Required Skills / Certifications / Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience is essential. Candidates must have prior travel experience (first-time travelers are not accepted). Local candidates are welcome, but there may be a rate difference. Key Skills: Proficiency in managing vents, IV starts, PA lines, and telemetry. Certifications: ACLS, BCLS, and NIH are mandatory. Preferred Skills: CCRN and PALS certifications are advantageous.
Job DetailsPatient Ratios: Target ratios are 1:2-3, which may vary based on unit demands. Shift: 12-hour night shifts are available, with the possibility of week-long contracts. Time Off: A maximum of 7 days is preferred (ideally no more than 3 days). Float Requirement: Floating is required and will be included in a rotation schedule, with potential floating to Med Surg as needed. In crisis situations, travelers may be asked to assist in other units.
Weekend RequirementEvery other weekend commitment is expected.
Patient DemographicsCare for medical and surgical intermediate and critical care level patients.
Unit SystemsUtilization of systems such as Pyxis, EPIC, and SBAR for medication, documentation, and communication.
SchedulingUnit leadership will create schedules based on needs.
OrientationA 12-hour hospital orientation is required during the first week; travelers must be available for daily classes.
UniformsScrubs should be navy blue, white, or a combination of both.
