Position Summary


The Food Service Assistant plays a vital role in various responsibilities, including monitoring and documenting food temperatures, setting up and maintaining a clean serving area, preparing and serving food items, restocking supplies, cleaning and sanitizing equipment, and processing payments using a computerized register. Adherence to Hazardous Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) guidelines is essential. This role requires excellent customer service skills and effective communication with patrons and colleagues. The ability to build strong working relationships is crucial.

Maintaining quality control standards is a key aspect of this position.

May operate various equipment, including grills, beverage machines, toasters, ice cream dispensers, cash registers, computerized cash registers, steam equipment, dishwashers, telephones, refrigerators, and freezers.

Experience in the food industry is preferred.

Must be able to work independently when necessary and possess a solid understanding of food safety and sanitation practices. The role requires the ability to remain on your feet for extended periods and walk significant distances.

Qualifications
Minimum age of 16 years. Previous experience in customer service, retail cash handling, and knowledge of food service is preferred. Must be able to read, write, and follow both oral and written instructions. Basic math skills are required. On-the-job training will be provided.

Depending on the location of hire, Serv Safe certification may be required within a specified timeframe. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification may also be necessary based on location requirements.
