Position Summary
The Scenic CAD Designer is tasked with developing innovative designs and technical solutions, generating precise specifications, and formulating safe and economical construction methods based on design concepts and visual references. This role reports directly to the CAD Supervisor.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce technical drawings for shop fabrication.
- Create detailed assembly and installation diagrams.
- Investigate materials and hardware necessary for construction.
- Maintain active communication with the construction team.
- Collaborate closely with the production team to achieve budgetary and scheduling objectives.
- Oversee shop standards and ensure quality control.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred; relevant work experience may substitute for formal education.
- Strong understanding of scenic fabrication practices; shop fabrication experience is advantageous.
- Proficient in Vectorworks and MS Office.
- Experience with automation and electronics is a plus.
- Preferred background in the Entertainment and Events Industry (Live Events, Sporting Venues, Theater).
- This position requires a background check and drug screening.
