Job Summary:
The IT/Cloud Engineer will be tasked with the design, deployment, and migration of systems across IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS environments.

The Cloud Engineer will identify and select suitable cloud services based on specific requirements and constraints, possessing deep expertise in the subject matter and evaluating new technologies for integration into existing infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Architect, design, deploy, and manage Azure Government IaaS, SaaS, and PaaS services and solutions.
  • Implement and maintain Azure Government Cloud tenant, including migrating workloads from on-premises to the cloud.
  • Oversee product/platform architectures ensuring that all projects align with the architectural vision.
  • Conduct analysis, design, and implementation of infrastructure and cloud data center solutions, including computing, networking, routing, and security.
  • Design and support solutions in cloud and virtualized environments with a strong understanding of hybrid cloud architectures.
  • Effectively communicate and implement the architectural vision across various teams.
  • Provide technical leadership and guide team direction on complex projects.
  • Develop a comprehensive cloud strategy and manage the adaptation process.
  • Manage costs associated with Azure Government services and implement a tagging strategy for cloud resources and assets to support cost reporting and compliance.

Proficient in core Microsoft technologies, including Windows, Windows Server administration, Active Directory, Identity and Access Management, DNS, and SQL.

Technical Skills Required:
  • Design, build, upgrade, and decommission various Windows and Linux systems, including:
    • Active Directory (Azure AD)
    • Azure Storage (Blob, Files, Disks)
    • App Services
    • BCDR (Azure Backup, Azure Site Recovery, Recovery Vaults)
    • Networking (vNets, Subnets, Express Route)
    • Virtual Machines

Collaborate effectively with third-party suppliers and support providers to ensure timely issue resolution and solutions.

Create documentation for diverse audiences while demonstrating creativity and innovation in a dynamic, fast-paced team environment.

Education and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Information Technology or Computer Science.
  • Equivalent combination of education and successful work experience (10 years) along with Microsoft Azure Certification in specialized areas is required.
  • ITIL V4 Certification is preferred.
  • Agile SaFe/Scrum Master Certification is preferred.
Experience:
  • Minimum of three years of experience in designing and maintaining public/government cloud solutions with a focus on Microsoft Azure (government preferred) IaaS and PaaS services.
  • Proficient understanding of IP subnetting, Network Security Groups, routing, Azure Firewall, load balancing, DNS, and other networking concepts.
  • Strong technical architecture skills, enabling the creation of robust, complex global solutions.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in IT administration and/or engineering services managing Windows and Linux servers.
  • Expert knowledge of Azure CLI PowerShell, ARM Templates, Azure Networking, Azure Virtual Networks, and Site-to-Site VPN.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Azure DevOps configuration and management, Azure Security Center, and Azure Identity Management.
  • Experience with cloud monitoring tools such as Azure Log Analytics, Azure Monitor, and Application Insights.
  • Experience implementing DevOps practices, including Infrastructure-As-Code (IAC), Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD), and automated testing.
  • Knowledge of security policies, network security, data security, and security event management.
  • Experience with Terraform, Ansible, and/or Azure Government Cloud/AWS CloudFormation IaC tools.
  • Proficient scripting experience in PowerShell, Python, Bash, or similar languages.
  • Experience with relational databases such as MS SQL.
