Medical Support Specialist

The Medical Support Specialist will provide general nursing care to patients in an outpatient clinic setting. This role involves performing various duties, including taking vital signs, explaining procedures, and preparing equipment for treatments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Take temperature, pulse, blood pressure, and other vital signs to detect deviations from normal.
- Explain prescribed procedures and treatments to patients.
- Prepare equipment and aid physician during treatment and examination of patient.
- Ensure all ordered tests are performed accurately and in a timely manner.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques.
- Maintain awareness of comfort and needs of the patient.
- Perform laboratory tests according to written instructions and properly document the patients chart with the laboratory results.
- Respond to life saving situations based upon nursing standards, policies, procedures, and protocol.
Requirements:
- Medical Assistant Certification or registry.
- Previous medical clerical experience preferred.
- Basic computer knowledge, e.g., Microsoft Office.
- Accuracy and detail orientation.
- Positive customer service skills.
- Well-groomed appearance.
- Tactful interpersonal relationships.
Compensation and Benefits:
$40,000 - $55,000 per year (dependent on experience). The company offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), life/AD&D, STD, and LTD insurance.
This position requires standing for extended periods, reaching and bending, and lifting items up to 10 pounds. The work environment is indoors with a moderate noise level and potential exposure to bloodborne pathogens and diseases.
