Position Summary:

The Assembly Technician plays a crucial role in the daily operations of the Assembly department, executing a variety of essential tasks and responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Interpret and adhere to complex job order specifications, blueprints, work instructions, and established procedures.
  2. Efficiently handle materials, supplies, and finished products by lifting, loading, sorting, and transporting them using appropriate equipment.
  3. Accurately assemble components in accordance with approved specifications, ensuring thoroughness and speed.
  4. Operate machinery safely and maintain safe work practices at all times.
  5. Examine connections for proper fit and secure parts and sub-assemblies using hand tools, power tools, or bench machines.
  6. Conduct inspections and tests to verify the accuracy of assembled items, utilizing measuring or testing equipment, or through visual checks.
  7. Report any defects in parts or equipment to supervisors for timely resolution.
  8. Adjust, repair, or replace defective components using hand tools, power tools, or bench machines.
  9. Maintain cleanliness of materials and machinery by removing dust, dirt, and other contaminants.
  10. Mark reference lines and points on components as per specifications using appropriate tools.
  11. Cut materials to specified dimensions or shapes using cutting machines or hand tools.
  12. Rotate through various stations during shifts to maintain alertness and readiness.
  13. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  1. High School Diploma or GED is required.
  2. Six months to one year of relevant experience and/or training is preferred.

Security Clearance:

Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a 'Secret' security clearance.

Skills and Competencies:

  1. Ability to read and comprehend blueprints, schematics, and measuring devices.
  2. Adherence to processes and standard operating procedures.
  3. Proactive and results-oriented work ethic.
  4. Proficient in the use of hand tools and power tools.
  5. Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high-energy environment.
  6. Strong initiative and commitment to completing tasks efficiently.

  9. Basic computer skills, including file management and internet navigation.

  13. Commitment to fostering a culture of inclusion and trust.
  14. Knowledge of jig and fixture building, tool and die making, and machine shop practices.

Work Environment:

Indoors in a production and office setting, typically temperature-controlled unless working with outdoor products or equipment.

Physical Requirements:

  1. Ability to navigate ladders, stairs, and other elevated surfaces.
  2. Capable of lifting objects up to 50 pounds.
  3. Frequent walking and movement between work sites.
  4. Ability to operate vehicles and heavy machinery.
  5. Prolonged periods of standing and repetitive motions.
  6. Visual inspection capabilities for small defects and parts.
