Job Summary

Rumpke Waste and Recycling is seeking a skilled CDL Rear Load Driver to join our team. As a CDL Rear Load Driver, you will be responsible for collecting and hauling waste or recycling materials to a disposal site or recycling plant.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate a truck in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to local, state, and federal regulations, as well as company policies.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by emptying trash or recycling containers into the truck and hauling them to the disposal site.
  • May be required to pull or push containers from enclosures or inside buildings.
  • Deliver trash or recycling containers as needed and replace them neatly at the curb or designated area.
  • Clean up waste spills and overflows, and maintain and update route and driver log sheets.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections and complete logs.
  • Interact professionally with internal and external customers.
  • Clean waste from the packer blade and truck body.
Requirements
  • Ability to read and understand a map.
  • Ability to perform physical requirements of the job, including prolonged physical exertions, such as sitting, reaching, pushing, pulling, climbing, and lifting.
  • Required to enter and exit the truck approximately times per day.
  • Excellent truck driving and maneuvering skills.
  • General knowledge of truck mechanics.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills to interact effectively and professionally with internal and external customers.
Working Conditions
  • Must have a valid Class B CDL.
  • Must have a valid DOT Medical Card or be able to obtain one prior to hire.
  • Must be at least 19 years of age.
  • No more than 3 moving violations within the last 2 years.
  • Must not have any DUIs or OVI's within the last 5 years or 2 in the last 10 years.
  • Possible exposure to high traffic conditions and/or tight driving areas.
  • Exposure to residential and commercial waste.
  • Ability to travel between offices, as required.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including overtime, weekends, and/or holidays.
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States.
  • Valid driver's license (if applicable).
  • Must successfully complete pre-employment testing.
  • Must be able to read and speak the English language.
