Position Overview

The individual in this role will be tasked with engaging and consulting with both current and potential mortgage applicants within the Bank's designated market area. The candidate should exhibit exceptional sales and analytical capabilities, along with outstanding written and verbal communication skills. A comprehensive understanding of the mortgage industry is essential. Candidates must have a minimum of five years of relevant mortgage experience, including familiarity with secondary market standards. Proficiency in computer usage is required, and candidates must hold a valid license and maintain a clean record with the National Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) in compliance with the SAFE Act. A valid driver's license is also necessary, and availability during evenings and weekends is expected.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Maintain an established portfolio of clients and real estate professionals.
  2. Proactively reach out to potential clients through in-person meetings, telemarketing, and direct mail campaigns.
  3. Keep a detailed monthly report of calls, including a current prospect list and database.
  4. Follow up on all sales inquiries promptly and provide feedback to the lead source regarding the outcomes.
  5. Ensure ongoing communication with clients from the initial application stage through to loan closing and post-closing support.
  6. Conduct annual check-ins with existing commercial clients to assess their needs and explore additional services.
  7. Collaborate closely with the Bank's Marketing Department to design and execute targeted marketing initiatives for specific mortgage products.
  8. Review comprehensive mortgage applications; assess the applicant's financial situation, property valuation, and creditworthiness to determine loan eligibility.
  9. Develop and enhance mortgage programs through outreach to real estate agents, accountants, and legal professionals.
  10. Serve as the primary contact for all products and services once a new relationship is established.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  1. Demonstrated sales proficiency.
  2. Exceptional communication abilities.
  3. Solid understanding of banking, business operations, and investment principles.
  4. Willingness to travel within the Bank's market area.
A minimum of three to five years of experience in external sales, ideally within the financial services sector is preferred.
